The system of composting human waste has been around for many years and used by many cultures. We here at BIO SYSTEMS are continuously developing composting toilet and grey water systems for New Zealand conditions.

The system of treating human waste by composting it into a pathogen free soil type product that is very environmentally friendly and cost effective, is being accepted more and more in this country by councils and individuals alike.

The composting toilet systems work where site constraints, by laws, cost, and conscience do not allow alternatives. We design Composting toilet systems and grey water systems to be as site flexible as possible and offer many alternative ways of instillation.

Our systems are built to /or exceed New Zealand standards. We have both commercial and domestic sizes of composting toilets  available using either a non flush dry pedestal or a low flush ceramic pedestal.

We design and mould our own products here in New Zealand and have done so for the past 14 years.

 Our systems are true composting toilets where the composting is completed in the system. These are not systems that hold a small amount for a short time and then require you to empty it and complete the composting somewhere else .All our composting toilet systems comply with or are better than New Zealand standards AS/NZS 1546.2.2001 and are made in  conjunction with AS/NZS 1547. This means they also meet clauses B1 ( Structure) ,  B2( Durability) ,  G1 ( Personal hygiene) , G 14 ( Industrial liquid waste) of the New Zealand building code. The exception being the opening in the dry pedestal that exceeds the standard by 20 mm, otherwise we could not use a standard toilet seat.
